The Ron Zacapa is produced from a blend of vintage rums with up to 23 years of barrel age. This is first-class Guatemalan rum made from virgin sugar cane honey--the first press of the sugar cane that's boiled down to thicken--rather than molasses, which is a byproduct of the sugar-making process. This results in a sweeter and smoother rum. Aged using the Solera System, like Sherry, Ron Zacapa 23 years is wonderfully complex, generous and full-bodied. Best enjoyed on a single large lump of pure, clear ice in a luxury rocks glass with a heavy base.
